At Forge Valley School & Sixth Form, our Information Technology and Computing courses equip students with the knowledge, technical expertise and professional skills needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Through a blend of academic study and practical application, students develop a strong understanding of how technology is designed, developed, managed and secured, while exploring the impact of digital innovation on individuals, organisations and society.
Across our Sixth Form pathways, students study areas such as programming, cyber security, computer networks, databases, website development, human-computer interaction, information systems and digital project management. They learn how to apply computational thinking and problem-solving techniques to real-world challenges, developing the ability to analyse requirements, design solutions, create digital products and evaluate their effectiveness. Through project-based learning and industry-relevant scenarios, students gain experience of the processes and practices used within the modern technology sector.
