Congratulations to all Sixth Form students on a fantastic set of A level results. We were delighted to see so many happy faces on 18th August as students received their results and confirmed their university places.
We were proud of the achievements of every student, all of who had worked hard over two years to achieve the grades they needed to step into higher education and high quality apprenticeships.
Particular congratulations must go to the following pupils:
Jacob Day achieved grades A* (Business Studies), A (Maths) and A (Psychology) securing a place at the University of Manchester to study Psychology.
Simon Nash achieved grades A (Maths), A (Chemistry) and A (Physics) securing a place at the University of Sheffield to study Medicine.
Megan Delaney achieved grades A (History), A (Psychology) and B (Maths) securing a place at the University of Nottingham to study Law.
Chloe Royles achieved grades A (Biology), A (History) and B (Maths) securing a place at the University of Sheffield to study Biology.
Special congratulations must also go to the whole Y13 BTEC ICT class, who all achieved Distinction * grades, equivalent to an A* at A level.
This year 80% of our Sixth Form students progressed onto Higher Education, 12% progressed into Apprenticeships with 8% entering a gap year or employment.
The government published 2015 A level results at Forge Valley were outstanding. 54% of students achieved grades A*-B. Student A level progress was the highest in Sheffield. Further, progress in A level Mathematics was number 1 in the country, read more about it here.
