Key Stage 3 Exploring Maths Scheme

The scheme is tiered to consolidate prior learning and extend pupils through Y7 and Y8 in preparation for studies at GCSE.  The core elements of the scheme are:

• Algebra

• Ratio, proportion and rates of change

• Geometry and measures

•  Probability

•  Statistics

KS4

GCSE studies commence in Y9.  In the transition from the legacy GCSE to the GCSE to be assessed in 2017 there is an increase in the content at both the Foundation and Higher tiers. Pupils are expected to apply their mathematical understanding in unfamiliar contexts as well as be secure in their mathematical processing.

Mathematics GCSE (Legacy)

Applicable for leavers in 2015 and 2016.
